Fat separation in beef and game products
Visible fat separation in beef and game meat occurs naturally. This does not result from fat being added deliberately. Instead, the fat naturally present in the meat separates more during cooking than with other types of meat. Seasonality also plays an important role, particularly with game products. Depending on the season, game animals accumulate different amounts of body fat. Consequently, the fat content of the meat may vary slightly depending on the hunting period. Sometimes the meat is leaner and sometimes it contains slightly more fat – a completely natural variation that reflects the high quality and natural origin of our products.

Terra Canis LIGHT

With 3-4% fat, Terra Canis LIGHT menus are very low in calories and fat. The reduced proportion of meat is balanced out by an increased proportion of healthy fruit and vegetables. We do not use any calorie-rich grain in these menus. Adding pineapple, papaya and precious grapeseed oil helps to stimulate fat metabolism. Coconut flour and artichoke leaves support this. Fibre from psyillium husks provide a greater feeling of satiation. Terra Canis LIGHT is particularly suitable for overweight and obese dogs. To support weight loss, we recommend making sure your dog gets enough exercise every day. 


With the concept ‘Dog nutrition in 100% human-grade quality of all raw materials’, Terra Canis set completely new quality standards in the pet food industry 15 years ago. Thanks to a special permit from the Bavarian Feedstuffs Authority, pet food was able to be produced for the first time in a genuine human-grade quality company, the traditional Munich butcher’s shop Schäbitz. This was made possible by the fact that, right from the very start, only raw materials were used which, thanks to their freshness and quality, were officially approved for human food products at the time of processing. This uncompromising quality and the associated delicious, appetising smell of the menus have set Terra Canis menus apart from all other products on the market from the very beginning. 

Due to the constantly increasing demand, the butcher's shop in the heart of Munich has reached its capacity limits. 

As quality is of the highest priority for Terra Canis, the menus will now be produced in our new factory just outside Munich.  

Manufacturing the products within “our own four walls” enables maximum control over the quality of raw materials. In addition, the three master butchers from Schäbitz butcher’s in Munich and their entire team have been brought over, bringing with them decades of experience and expertise in the butcher's trade. 

All the raw materials used, the production site and the hygiene concept are still subject to 100% human-grade standards.

Dieses Futter hat unserem Hund wieder auf die Beine geholfen.

Dank dieses Futters konnte sich unser Hund gut erholen von einem sehr starken Magen-Darm-Infekt. Er bekommt es jetzt immer noch, da es ihm sehr gut zu schmecken scheint und es sich gut mit dem Trockenfutter zusammen verfüttern lässt.
