Terra Canis HYPOALLERGENIC

Terra Canis Hypoallergen – Highest quality for dogs with allergies
Especially for dogs with allergies and intolerances, highest quality of raw materials is essential. The Terra Canis HYPOALLERGENIC menus consist of pure muscle meat (60%) from a single, exotic protein source. This meat is complemented by a low-allergen vegetable. Linseed oil provides high-quality omega-3 fatty acids and is known to support the gastrointestinal tract and to have a positive effect on skin and coat. A balanced mix of vitamins and minerals ensures that the dog is supplied with all essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Terra Canis HYPOALLERGENIC is suitable for dogs with food allergies / intolerances and for the implementation of an exclusion diet.
Terra Canis HYPOALLERGENIC was able to prove in a scientific study* that there is no contamination of a foreign DNA. In the renowned magazine ‘Veterinary Dermatology’ a study* was released by international veterinarians. The variety Terra Canis hypoallergenic horse was examined. Terra Canis hypoallergenic was the only wet food which was untainted and without any contamination of one of the five tested foreign DNA. The results from this study show that 9 out of 12 products by renowned producers contained DNA of one or more of the five tested animal species which were not declared. The DNA of beef (8 products) and pork (6 products) was most frequently detected.

Why are these menus more expensive?
In addition to the exclusive use of muscle and heart meat and the 100% human-grade quality of all ingredients, the extremely high market price for ostrich, buffalo, camel and kangaroo meat makes this product somewhat more expensive. This meat can cost 3-4 times as much as beef, turkey, or chicken meat. It must be imported as frozen goods from Australia and South Africa.
- Developed in cooperation with Dr Bucksch, veterinarian specialist for small animals / animal dermatologist
- Processing exclusively muscle and heart meat from a low-allergen protein source and a single vegetable variety (sweet potato, Jerusalem artichoke or parsnip)
- Addition of linseed oil
- Contains no grains and no lactose
- Addition of human-grade vitamins, minerals, and trace elements according to individual calculation by Dr Bucksch

Highest quality and species-appropriate recipes

In nature, cats hunt their prey for direct consumption. Each hunt means a freshly caught meal. In this way, the cat instinctively provides itself with nutrients of exceptional quality and maximum freshness. Terra Felis is based on this unique quality concept in nature. For the menus, only human-grade quality ingredients are used. This makes Terra Felis the first cat food in 100 % human-grade quality of all ingredients, setting it apart from all other products on the market in terms of quality. In addition to the quality of ingredients, a species-appropriate recipe is essential for the health of the cat. With 90 % meat and nutritious offal, a low proportion of fibre in the form of vegetables, no grain and the addition of taurine, it imitates the natural prey of the cat perfectly. In this way, the cat’s organism is supplied with all the important nutrients in the highest possible quality.

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY SWITCH FOODS

Vet Hanna Stephan has some tips

A change to a new food often puts the cat owner to a hard test of patience. This is an expression of the cat's special food imprint. Their receptors "warn" them of the unknown. This instinct often makes a food change very difficult and lengthy. Alongside a species-appropriate recipe with an extremely high meat content, a few small tricks can help ease the transition.

TIP 1: RECONDITIONING
Place a bowl with the new food alongside the old food (which the cat should continue to eat for the time being) for a few days, allowing the new smell to be incorporated within the cat’s ‘prey spectrum’. As such, the rejection or ‘fear’ of the new food will gradually be diminished until it is no longer regarded as ‘strange’.

TIP 2: STEP BY STEP
Once the cat has got used to the new smell, small amounts of the new food can be mixed into the old food. The pace at which this is done depends on the cat concerned. The more critical the cat is by nature, the smaller the initial concentration of the new food. If the cat shows great interest in the new food or prefers it to the old food, the ‘mixing in’ process can go at a faster rate or even be skipped.

TIP 3: FEEDING INCENTIVES
Gently warming up the new food or – depending on your cat’s preferences – adding a small amount of salt, fish oil or Parmesan for a short period can help to make the new product even more appetising.

TIP 4: PEACE AND QUIET
Ensure that your cat has a quiet feeding place where they can eat and sniff their food without being disturbed. Some cats feel even happier and safer in raised feeding places.
